Comfort waistbands, activewear and some dresses need stretch. They also need recovery, or the garment grows at the elbow, seat or neckline.
Read composition before you assume stretch. On FabStitch, do not infer elastane from a soft photograph. If the page does not list it, treat the cloth as stable unless the construction is a knit.
